E birthday is november 16th, which means last night signaled the start of his birthday weekend. after he got home from work and had a birthday beer (i had a birthday glass of prosseco), we headed over to five guys for burgers.
what E didn't know is his family was waiting there for him. his mom, sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, mother-in-law, and father-in-law were all there saving us a table. i was glad he was surprised. he didn't recognize any cars in the parking lot nor did he even see them sitting at the table until i stopped to talk to them.
after burgers and fries (birthdays don't count. you can eat whatever you want - even if you are celebrating someone elses birthday, right?), we headed back to our house for cake. E's mom, M, made a hawiian wedding cake with cream cheese icing. this cake is so wonderful! it has walnuts and pineapple and the best part is it tastes just a good, if not better the next morning for breakfast - cold.
maybe it is a sign of us both getting older. we were in bed at 9:30pm. more birthday events to follow this weekend. stay tuned!
Happy Birthday, E!!
