did you see my video yesterday? i am currently obsessed with these nutella lattes i developed. if you read food blogs on a regular basis or are on pinterest you have probably heard of nutella hot chocolate. but, as i said yesterday, i sometimes need a little afternoon pick-me-up. so i figured i could doctor a nutella hot chocolate up a bit by adding espresso powder or a bit of starbucks via ready brew. (i have tried both by the way and both work just fine.)
i made mine the old fashioned way - on the stovetop - but you could certainly warm your milk up in the microwave if you are short on time but still craving chocolate/caffeine.
so, here's one of my christmas presents to you - the nutella latte recipe. make yourself a mug this weekend. you won't regret it. promise.
Nutella Latte
makes 1 medium size mug
1 cup whole milk
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp via ready brew powder or espresso powder
2 rounded tsp nutella
pinch of salt
warm milk and water over medium heat. you want the pot to be steaming but not boiling. whisk in coffee and nutella. **this is the MOST important part!** lick the spoon as not to waste any of that nutella goodness. continue whisking until powder and nutella has dissolved. adjust heat as necessary to keep it from boiling. add a very small pinch of salt to bring out all the flavors, pour into a mug and top with marshmallows or whipped cream, if desired.
just double this recipe if you want to treat someone else to this indulgence. enjoy!
oooh ill try this in CT as an xmas treat! nice mug :)
